Our commitment

Accessibility is part of how we honor Reilly Crisler's memory and the community we serve. A young person exploring a career pathway, a parent looking for family resources, an employer ready to open a door, each of them should be able to move through this website without friction, regardless of ability, device, or the assistive technology they rely on. We treat accessibility as ongoing work, not a box to check, and we fold it into how we design and build every page.

The standard we follow

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. In practice, that shapes concrete decisions across the site, including:

• Semantic HTML with a single, clear page heading and a logical heading order, so screen-reader users can understand and navigate each page's structure.
• Text and interface colors chosen to meet AA contrast ratios against our navy, linen, and teal palette, so copy stays readable in a range of lighting conditions.
• Visible focus indicators and a fully keyboard-operable interface, menus, links, and forms can all be reached and used without a mouse.
• Descriptive link text and labels tied to their form fields, so the purpose of every control is clear out of context.
• Layouts that reflow and remain usable when text is enlarged or the screen is small, without loss of content or function.

Ongoing improvements

We review accessibility as we add and update content, combining automated checks with manual keyboard and screen-reader testing on the pages that matter most, program details, ways to get involved, and how to reach us. As we learn more and as standards evolve, we keep refining. If something on this site works less well than it should, we want to fix it, and feedback from the people who use it is the fastest way for us to find out.

Assistive technology we support

This site is designed to work with current versions of widely used assistive technologies and browsers, including:

• Screen readers such as VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS, and TalkBack.
• Browser zoom and operating-system text-scaling and high-contrast settings.
• Keyboard-only navigation and speech-recognition input.

We test primarily in recent versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. Because assistive technology and browsers change often, you may occasionally encounter an area that behaves differently than expected, please tell us when you do.

Known limitations

Some content, such as embedded media, documents, or tools provided by third parties, may not yet meet every one of our accessibility goals. Where we rely on an outside provider, we work with them toward an accessible experience and look for accessible alternatives in the meantime. If a specific piece of content is blocking you, reach out and we will help you get the information you need another way.

If you run into an accessibility barrier on this website, or if there is something we could do to make it easier for you to use, we want to hear about it. Email us at hello@jumpstartnonprofit.org and, if you can, include the page address, a short description of the problem, and the browser or assistive technology you were using. That detail helps us reproduce and resolve the issue quickly. We read every message and will do our best to respond promptly and, wherever possible, provide the information or service you were trying to reach.
