Privacy Policy
Jumpstart is a small nonprofit built on trust, with the students, families, employers, and educators we serve across the Pikes Peak region. This policy explains, in plain language, what information we collect, why, and the choices you have.

The Reilly Crisler Jumpstart Memorial Fund (Jumpstart) respects your privacy. We collect only what we need to run our programs, steward the gifts that make them possible, and stay in touch with the community around Colorado Springs. We do not sell your personal information, and we never share it for someone else's marketing. This policy applies to this website and the ways you interact with us through it.
What we collect
Most of this site can be read without giving us anything at all. We collect personal information only when you choose to share it, for example, when you make a donation, sign up for an update, volunteer, or reach out through a form or email. Depending on what you do, that may include:
- Contact details such as your name, email address, mailing address, or phone number.
- Donation details, including the amount, date, and, where you tell us, whether a gift is in honor or memory of someone.
- Messages and preferences you send us, such as questions, volunteer interests, or the audience you belong to (a student, a parent, an employer, or an educator).
- Basic technical information your browser sends automatically, like your device type, general location, and the pages you visit, which helps us keep the site working and secure.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Youth take part in our programs through their schools, families, and guardians, and any information about a minor comes to us through those relationships rather than this website.
How we use it
We use the information you share for the reasons you shared it and to keep our commitments to donors and program participants. Concretely, that means we use it to:
- Process and acknowledge donations and send the receipts you need for your records and taxes.
- Respond to your questions, connect you with the right program or staff member, and follow up on volunteer or partnership interest.
- Send occasional updates about our work and impact, only to people who have asked to hear from us.
- Understand, at a high level, how the site is used so we can improve it, and to protect against fraud, abuse, and security threats.
- Meet our legal, accounting, and reporting obligations as a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
Donations & third-party processors
When you give, your payment is handled by a trusted third-party payment processor, not by us. We do not see or store your full card number, bank account, or security code, that information goes directly to the processor, which is required to protect it under industry security standards. We receive confirmation of your gift and the contact details you provide so we can thank you and keep an accurate record.
We also work with a handful of service providers who help us operate, for example, email delivery, donation and event tools, and website hosting. These providers may handle your information only to perform work on our behalf, under agreements that limit how they can use it. We share information with outside parties in just a few situations: with these service providers, when you have asked us to, or when the law requires it.
Cookies & analytics
Like most websites, this one uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies. Some are necessary to make pages load and forms work. Others help us understand, in aggregate, how visitors find and move through the site, so we can make it clearer and faster. This analytics information is used to see patterns, not to identify you personally.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them. If you turn cookies off, the site will still work, though a few conveniences may not behave as expected. Many browsers also offer a "Do Not Track" signal; because there is no shared standard for honoring it, we keep our own collection limited to what is described here.
Your choices
You are always in control of your relationship with us. You may:
- Unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in any message, or by contacting us directly.
- Ask us what personal information we hold about you, request a correction, or ask us to delete it, subject to records we are required to keep for tax and accounting purposes.
- Tell us how you prefer to be contacted, or ask us not to contact you at all.
To make any of these requests, just email us, we will confirm your request and take care of it as promptly as we can. We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or to meet our legal obligations, and then we securely dispose of it.
Contact us
We are a community organization, and a real person reads what you send. If you have a question about this policy, want to exercise one of the choices above, or are unsure how your information is handled, email us at hello@jumpstartnonprofit.org. We may update this policy from time to time as our programs and tools change; when we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above, and significant changes will be reflected here on this page.
